The Carencro and Lafayette communities in Louisiana are mourning the loss of Andrew “Drew” Feucht, an 18-year-old recent graduate of Carencro High School who passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2026. His death has brought sorrow to family members, friends, classmates, and others who watched him grow and begin pursuing his future. At an age when many young people are taking their first steps into adulthood, Drew’s passing represents a heartbreaking loss for those who knew and loved him.

Drew was a 2026 graduate of Carencro High School. Before graduating, he attended Carencro Catholic School and St. Leo the Great Catholic School, continuing his education at Teurlings Catholic High School, where he played football. As a wide receiver and running back, he took part in a sport that brings teammates together through shared effort, discipline, and friendship. His years in school helped shape a young life filled with promise and connections that will remain meaningful to those who shared those experiences with him.

After high school, Drew enrolled at Louisiana State University in August, where he was studying pre-med. He also had an interest in finance, reflecting the different ambitions and possibilities he was exploring as he began building his adult life. Pursuing higher education marked an important new chapter for Drew, and his plans represented the hopes he and his family held for the years ahead. His passing leaves those dreams unfinished and makes the loss especially painful for the people closest to him.

Drew was part of a loving family that included his parents, Richard Feucht II and Tanya Ballanco Feucht, his sister Olivia, and his brothers Joseph, Jacob, and Nicholas. His family also includes grandparents and extended relatives who will share in the grief of his loss. The relationships built through family life, school, faith, and sports often become an enduring source of comfort during difficult times. For those who knew Drew personally, memories of ordinary days and shared milestones may now carry an even deeper meaning.

Funeral services for Andrew “Drew” Feucht are scheduled for Thursday, October 15, at 11 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro, according to Melancon Funeral Home. As family, friends, and the wider community come together to remember him, may they find strength in one another and comfort in the memories they hold dear. Drew’s life was tragically short, but the relationships he formed and the promise he carried will remain part of the legacy he leaves behind.
